I hope you are ready for part two of my super exclusive tour of the mayor's house, because here it is!

In this part we will be exploring the mayor's kitchen! It is a cozy little room with lots of warm colors. There is a crackling clay furnace in one corner of the room, a fluffy warm kotatsu in the center of the room, and lots of milk cans scattered around. The mayor poured me a cup of warm sweet tea and even pulled out some chocolate cake as an afternoon snack. She told me that her room took design elements from Japanese homes. Which are definitely noticeable with her hagoita, kotatsu, and even her screen.

Today, I was given an exclusive tour of Mayor Jessica's house! She lives in a very secluded section of Lazuli! Her house is surrounded by apples and lychees, as well as several bushes. There are also thousands of red pansies and roses planted around her house.

From an interview with the mayor, she told me that she took cottages from old fairy tales when creating the design of her house. She wanted it to look like something that might be found deep in the woods. Coming from somebody who has read many of Grimm's Fairy Tales, I can definitely see the image she was going for.

The mayor's sitting room is a very colorful and busy room. There is a comforting fireplace crackling in front of a lovely chaise lounge chair. Since the mayor has a strong interest in astrology and the stars, there are several items in her front room that are based on certain zodiac signs.

Yesterday was Shamrock Day! The town celebrated by dressing up in green and pinching anybody who wasn't wearing it. Of course Drago could wear whatever he wanted without getting pinched since the color of his scales is light green. Isabelle also made some adorable green hats with golden shamrocks for everyone to wear!

The mayor even wore a special dress in honor of the holiday. She designed it herself at the Able Sister's clothing shop. There is even a rumor going around that someone switched Harriet's hair dye from brown to dark green while she was doing the mayor's hair. Although nobody knows who switched the dyes, the mayor's best friend Alfonso is the main suspect.

It has been quite a while since the newspaper has been updated, the mayor and I apologize for that. Not only have new public works projects been springing up allover town, but many events have been going on as well. Such as, the New Year's Countdown, the Fishing Tourney, the mayor's birthday, Groundhog's Day, and most recently Festivale.

Festivale was a lot of fun in Lazuli. Everyone had a blast dancing and singing to Pave's music. Confetti and sunshine brightened up the entire day! We all wore giant colored feathers with matching rainbow colored outfits.

Mayor Jessica has also been leading a committee that adds aesthetics to the town. Such as paths, flowers, rivers, and plants. The members of the committee are Wolfgang, Gala, Tipper, Patty, and Drago. They all work together to create even more gorgeous town for us to live in.

So, from everyone here in Lazuli, thank you Committee to Beautify Lazuli.

Well, we haven't been together long, but I assure you 2013 was definitely a good year in Lazuli, many new friends have been that will last forever!

The Harvest Festival yesterday was a huge hit! All the ingredients were ordered and the food was delicious. Everyone had a blast working together to get all of the ingredients for Franklin. There was fish salad, sea bass saute, mushroom soup, and much more!

Happy Birthday Wolfgang! It is the lovable Sagittarius's birthday today. Unfortunately he wouldn't tell anyone exactly how old he was however the mayor, one of his very best friend's, feels that he might be in his late forties

Here's to a long and fun-filled life here in Lazuli, from all your friends and neighbors!
